Staff Accountant Job Opening in Denver, Colorado - Rio Grande Co., a family owned, locally operated 100+ year old Denver based Building Materials Distributor is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our financial and accounting team. We are a multi-division company with operations in Denver, Colorado and Fontana, California.
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant assists in reviewing, preparing and entering daily accounting transactions, reconciles accounts to financial statements and perform assigned tasks as part of the month end closing procedures. The position reports to the Controller.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with cash management and reporting
Bank reconciliations
Sales and use tax returns
Asset schedule maintenance
Reconcile accounts to the financial statements
Posting journal entries and intercompany expenses
Prepare cash flow reports
Assists in month/quarter/year end closing activities and analysis
Assists with maintaining and creating financial reports that support the business
Work with the Controller and the team members in carrying out the general duties of the Finance/Accounting department.
Preferred Qualifications-
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting
2 years general accounting experience
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Experience with SX Enterprise or other ERP system
Works effectively in a Team environment.
