JOB SUMMARY
The basic function of the position Customer Service/Technical Sales Representative requires customer service, order taking and scheduling of customer orders. The Customer Service/Technical Sales Representative will be familiar with all products, markets, and capabilities of all products and know when a standard product will or will not do the job required by the customer; will be able to troubleshoot technical problems/questions posed by customers; will be knowledgeable of all standard pricing, market areas and how pricing of product is applied to each market; will be knowledgeable in the proper procedure of gathering information to present to engineering so a quote on a nonstandard product can be presented to the customer; will attend tradeshows, dealer training, and customer training events; and, will maintain confidentiality of all information regarding company financing and other trade secret information.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires the following minimum qualifications: College graduate with a degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business Management, Communication, or a comparable combination of education and experience; driver?s license; must be a self-starter and able to motivate others; ability to speak, write and understand English; must be a persuasive and an effective communicator; must have strong aptitude for customer service, sales and marketing; must have effective verbal, mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude; must have strong presentation skills and the ability to address large groups; must have the ability to organize and maintain sales records; Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide; strong analytical skills are required including use of statistics and scheduling; and, must be able to meet the working conditions and physical demands identified below.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position will primarily be office-based, but there will be occasions requiring some work on the production floor. Production floor environments which can include frequent exposure to noise, heat, welding fumes, and dust and occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals. There will also be travel to trade shows and exposure to trade show environments.
The position requires the employee possess all body senses, which may include the ability to distinguish colors. Must be able to consistently work in the environment identified above. Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, and carry throughout an eight hour day. Must be able to work at computer terminal for up to four hours at a time. Must be able to consistently lift 50 lbs. from a floor or table position to chest high using a proper lifting technique and repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts. Must demonstrate good hand/eye coordination and demonstrate good manual dexterity. Must be able to write, use assorted office equipment: telephone, tax, computer and all pertinent software, calculator, copier. Must be willing to travel for extended periods of up to a week at a time. Must be able to stand for 8 hour day.
