This position is responsible for planning, organizing and managing all volunteer programs associated with HNW?s services and departments.
What You Will Do:
Manage volunteer services for effective utilization of volunteer resources and achievement of the department?s objective within the framework of the organization?s goals and mission statement.
Recruit, train, retain, supervise and support Hospice volunteers in patient care and non-patient care settings.
Ensure compliance with applicable Medicare Conditions of Participation and all other rules and regulations.
Responsible for developing volunteer activities that include new services.
Recognize that volunteer services support the HNW Foundation through community engagement and donor development.
Educate volunteers to meet hospice regulatory requirements and all applicable accreditation standards. Identifying and responding to patient/family volunteer needs by matching volunteers with skills needed.
Effective advocacy for the utilization and integration of volunteers into the interdisciplinary team and liaise between team members and volunteers as needed to affect optimal volunteer services for patients and families.
Oversee appropriate individualized volunteer plans of care and visit frequency orders in EMR.
Developing volunteer program evaluation strategies to insure quality services.
Contract management, recruitment, retention, recognition, vision for complementary therapy program.
Supporting community education through volunteer presentations or other activities in the community.
Documenting cost savings achieved through the use of volunteers. Maintains a volunteer staff sufficient to provide administrative or direct patient care in an amount that, at a minimum, equals 5 percent of the total patient care hours of all paid hospice employees and contract staff.
Recording the expansion of care and services achieved through the use of volunteers. Identifies opportunities for additional, reduced and/or improved volunteer services to address patient and family needs.
Reports to staff on volunteer activities as needed. Maintains volunteer personnel records (per CHAP, CMS, HNW and SRH requirements) in a timely manner.
What You will Need:
Bachelor degree in Human Services, Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences, Management or a related field
Master's degree preferred
Minimum five (5) year?s successful work experience as a Volunteer Coordinator, Supervisor, or Manager required, at least three (3) years of which should have been at the management level.
Prior experience creating and implementing a volunteer program and volunteer training highly preferred.
Current Washington State Driver?s License and proof of automobile liability insurance required.
Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services (CAVS) preferred.
Stay up to date with developments at NHPCO, NCHPP. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with the communities served by HNW.
Manage Resource Center. Performs other duties as assigned
