Lead Payroll Administrator Job Opening in Minneapolis, Minnesota - Payroll Responsibilities
Supervise the Payroll Specialist and oversee the day-to-day operations of the payroll department.
Supervise the processing of a bi-weekly payroll for 1,100+ employees using UltiPro and is a capable backup for the Payroll Specialist.
Supervise the processing of sales commission for payment through payroll system.
Coordinate workflow to ensure payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner.
Supervise the processing of payroll year-end requirements, which include dividend payments, phantom stock payouts, year-end bonus payments, and collecting and adding fringe benefits for W-2 add-ons.
Interact with managers and employee regarding time/payroll issues.
Ensure compliance with company policy and applicable local, state and federal wage and hour laws.
Technical support of time clocks and UltiPro Time Management.
Support internal and external audits.
Provide customer service.
Participate in New Hire Orientation.
Financial Accounting Support
Reconciles payroll related general ledger accounts.
Supports payroll related budgeting and auditing activity.
Other financial accounting activities as assigned.
Qualifications
4-year college degree or equivalent work experience in a Payroll related field with multi-state employer.
5+ years previous experience processing a full cycle payroll for 1,100+ employees.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Requires an understanding of multi-state wage and labor laws.
Prefer experience using UltiPro products or experience using a fully integrated online HRIS/Payroll system.
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office products.
Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must have professional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to deal appropriately with confidential material.
Ability to work well within a team and promote a health environment.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Generally an office/desk position using a computer, telephone and heavy data entry.
Flexible and willing to take on new responsibilities as needed.
Must be able to work occasional extra hours as needed.
Must be able to work on multiple projects at one time, handle deadlines, confidential information and interruptions in the work process.
Must be able to work well independently and with various levels of employees and diverse cultures.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 /year
