Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and talented software developer to enhance the platform and increase development speed.
Advanced skills in Python (Django) are necessary for this role and any development experience, projects or interests in front-end technologies, mobile applications and/or DevOps will be viewed favourably.
Skills & Qualifications
Masters or PhD in Computer Science/Computer Engineering with engineering/math focus or another equivalent field of discipline
Expert in Python (Django) with strong skills in Django REST Framework
Familiarity with some ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries
Able to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
Understanding of the threading limitations of Python, and multi-process architecture
Good understanding of server-side templating languages
Experience, projects or interests in DevOps
Experience, projects or interests in front-end technologies - AngularJS, ReactJS, CSS3 & HTML5
Experience, projects or interests in mobile application development
Understanding of accessibility and security compliance
Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Familiarity with event-driven programming in Python
Understanding of the differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
Strong unit test and debugging skills
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools including GIT
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Critical thinking skills - balancing the interests of college partners, developers and the company
Responsibilities
Delivering efficient, quality Python/Django REST API endpoints
Building unit tests on all of your endpoints
Clearly documenting all of your endpoints
Integrating user-facing elements with server-side logic
Implementing security and data protection around your code
Assisting with developer hiring, onboarding and performance reviews
Communicating with U.S. college IT staff
