We are seeking a motivated professional to join our Accounting team. Our ideal candidate will have two years? experience working in a fast paced office environment, preferably in an insurance agency and/or accounting environment. The ideal candidate will have a head for numbers, experience with MS office, strong problem solving capabilities and be a strong communicator. The Accounting Associate will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will need to demonstrate the ability to work proactively and independently. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Responsible to input accounting data into the Agency Management System.
Creates, stores and sends necessary correspondence to complete assigned responsibilities working with tight deadlines.
Prepares, distributes and stores reports as assigned.
Follows up on past due account receivables, verbally and in writing and stores information as required.
Provides day-to-day and back-up support for accounting department team members.
Works closely with internal and external clients, developing and maintaining strong relationships.
Works in a team environment, establishing positive working relationships within a team
Maintains knowledge of accounting practices.
Follows processes, procedures and workflows, within defined timelines, to drive consistency and efficiency, with a focus on client experience.
Reviews, updates and develops processes and workflows as needed.
Supports and demonstrates the core values of the organization.
Maintains confidentiality of personnel, client and company information.
Commitment to continuous improvement and Quality Program and performs all tasks in accordance with the company guidelines, policies, procedures and Quality program.
Supports and adheres to our Be Sure Standards and protocols defined departmentally and company-wide.
Performs special projects and other duties as defined by management.
Sorts and distributes daily mail for the department.
Requirements
Two years? experience working in a fast paced office environment, preferably in an insurance agency and/or accounting environment.
High school education or GED required.
Strong computer skills using all MS products, especially Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Self-starter and problem solver with tolerance for ambiguity.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated problem solving and people skills.
Proven accuracy in work and in attention to detail.
Professional oral and written skills required.*
General Working Conditions
Fast paced office environment with significant telephone and in person activity.
Ability to view computer monitors for extended periods.
Off-site visits to outside vendors may be required.
