Accounting and Payroll Manager Job Opening in Washington, District of columbia - Department: Operations

Summary: Working closely with both the Firm Administrator and Accountant, the Accounting and Payroll Manager will be responsible for producing timely and accurate financial statements and processing payroll. The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for hands-on implementation of continuous process improvement, developing efficiencies and infrastructure to support the Firm?s growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervising the Accounting/Finance functions

Process multi-state Payroll. Strong payroll skills in a multi-state environment, and registering in additional states to support our marketing growth strategy.

Handling Employee Benefits and Corporate Insurance Issues

Report Writing / Process Improvement

Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely.

Partner with HR / Recruiting on implementing more sophisticated payroll features to improve processes.

Special Projects (for example evaluate our current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to implement best practices).

Qualifications:
BS in Accounting

7+ years of professional experience, supervisory experience preferred

Strong knowledge of financial systems and concepts in the areas of financial reporting, key performance indicators (KPIs), business workflows, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems

Strong leadership and effective communication skills

Attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and strategic thinking

Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with the following:
Basic SQL query skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel tools

Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Microsoft Dynamics GP

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
