Behavior Specialist - Full time Job Opening in Montgomery Village, Maryland - Responsible for training all new staff at assigned specific residences or vocational sites on the behavior management plan (BMP).
After the initial training of staff, conducts follow-up monitoring of the BMP on a schedule determined by the Director of Psychology Services.
Interfaces with staff to arrange training and follow-up visits.
Writes the results of follow-up visits so that the recommendations are useful to CSAAC staff and to the Psychologist.
Reports of follow-up visits (called behavior specialist notes) are due within one week of the visit.
Distributes the notes to all designated personnel.
Recommends changes on the BMPs to the Psychologist as appropriate.
Goes onsite to residences and vocational settings as appropriate to monitor BMP implementation and conduct staff training on the BMP.
Conducts reliabilities at the residences and in the vocational program, as assigned by the Head Psychologist.
Investigates behavioral difficulties of individuals at the residences and/or vocational settings; make recommendations on possible solutions and approaches to the problems.
Adheres to mandatory use of CareMatic system to access, send email and access and report health information, data and incidents for individuals supported in CSAAC program. Adheres to mandatory use of 2interactHRM software for Human Resource and Accounting related duties.
Education: Master?s Degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience desirable in training on behavior plan implementation, or relevant formal educational training in applied behavior analysis.
Skills: Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, as well as good organizational and coordinative ability. Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise patience, caring and concern in new and sometimes stressful situations. Computer literacy required, with a proficiency in standard business software applications (i.e., word processing, e-mail and spreadsheets).
Both day, evening and weekend hours are required.
