JOB DESCRIPTION
The Controller reports to the Director of Finance, maintains and controls the general ledger accounts and business transaction of the organization, applying the General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that include analytical work and thorough review of financial records. The Accounting Manager will also be analyzing the accounting processes and financial reporting in order to assure the accuracy and integrity of the information. The Controller will be tasked with ensuring various general ledger accounts to make sure it is reconciled and accurate.
JOB DUTIES
Perform the day to day, monthly and yearly end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department
Oversee the accurate processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and employee reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance to the finance policies and procedures
Review and oversee the process of international wire payments and reconciliation of vendor accounts
Review royalty reports, checking for accurate calculations and completeness
Facilitate payments for all approved invoices
Review analyzed and prepared monthly and quarterly reports on licensing income and sales generated
Facilitate payments for all approved invoices
Managing cash flow and check run on a weekly basis
Process the payouts of monthly royalties and commissions
Oversee the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivable and work closely with the development team to ensure accurate account reconciliations within Microsoft Dynamic GP ERP System
Perform the processing of functional and benefits expenses allocation, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed asset depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary
Perform and prepare financial reports such as financials statements and balance sheets
Manage assigned responsibilities from the Director of Finance
Reviewing manufacturing work orders in the ERP system to ensure timely and accurate closures
Perform the month-end close and the posting of journal entries and review of general ledger schedules
Oversee the accounts receivable processes and perform reconciliations to ensure the correct account applications
Oversee the bank reconciliation process performed by accountant
Perform monthly and quarter end taxes for the company?s subsidiaries and entities
Manage the year-end audit functions
Reconcile the intercompany accounts and perform entries
Perform and analyze quarterly consolidating reports for the CEO, liaison with the outside CPA for any discrepancies
JOB REQUIRMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
CPA strongly preferred
Knowledge of primary sports is a plus
A good level of IT literacy including MS Office suite applications
Excellent skills in time management
Must be flexible and able to adapt to new processes and change
Must be capable of managing a heavy workload
Knowledge of GP Dynamics is a plus
Able to motivate and manage financial staff
Ability to prioritize the workload and adhere to deadlines
Must be adaptable to working in a rapidly changing and evolving environment
Ability to collaborate with various departments and levels within the company
