Accounting Specialist Job Opening in Millersville, Maryland - The Accounting Specialist will provide accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation. Under general supervision of the Accounting Manager, performs complex accounting clerical or bookkeeping tasks to support accounts payable, cash handling and/or other accounting related functions. Posts journal entries, processes payments or deposits, and verifies accuracy of data.
Responsibilities:
Input general ledger entries for monthly accruals, expenses and account changes.
Develop and maintain regular reports via the Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting system.
Manage and process daily AR reconciliation and entry
Communicate with the billing department to correct variances and update procedures
Reconcile GL accounts and provide monthly company financial reports
Work with bank to resolve deposit or credit card processing issues
Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and AP accounts
Maintain fixed asset reporting system and post monthly depreciation
Qualifications:
S. Accounting/Finance or well on the way of pursuing this degree.
2-3 years experience in accounting or accounts payable desk.
Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies and procedures that is reflective of the financial services industry.
Proven, solid Excel skills and exposure to automated accounting systems
