Sales Associate on our First Floor Job Opening in Northampton, Massachusetts - If you love fashion accessories, makeup and amazing scents, then we have a great opportunity for you! We are hiring for 20-30 hour/week position to fill a spot on our first floor staff, including assisting at our cosmetic & skin care counters.
Cedar Chest is an independent small-scale department store in downtown Northampton that offers great customer service from a knowledgeable and friendly staff. We function as a cohesive group and each staff member is required to familiarize him/herself with all departments, products, and procedures. So while the primary responsibility of this position is to attend customers on our first floor, it is ultimately a sales associate position and all employees are expected to complete general store duties on a daily basis, including a shared responsibility for cleanliness and organization.
If you've visited us, then you know the first floor is a small area, so comfort with strong scents and a team attitude are both vital! Additionally, we ask for:
- strong salesperson skills
- easy and approachable attitude
- willingness to train and develop thorough knowledge of our various soap and body care lines (Clinique and Origins training possible as well, depending on your interest and our needs)
- interest in casual chic clothing, fashion, or jewelry
- a flexible schedule, as we will need weekday, night, and weekend shifts filled
- ability to commit through January 10, 2018
Applicants must have at least 2-3 years sales experience, and training as a cosmetologist is a plus. Hourly compensation will be commensurate with experience.
