Manager in Training Responsibilities:
Work with the Location Manager to supervise the daily operations of the location.
Open the facility each day and supervise the route check in and load out process.
Assist in creating the daily delivery schedule and make necessary modification to ensure customer?s requirements are met and that the location provides excellent customer service.
Monitors procedures with an eye for continuous improvement of the effectiveness of our delivery service and shares best practices with colleagues and delivery teams.
Responsible for maintaining location inventory accuracy and provide weekly activity reports.
Recruit and retain qualified independent contract drivers and employees to meet company objectives.
Monitor all corporate safety and security requirements plus applicable State & Federal laws and implement changes as needed to remain compliant.
Participates in the training and professional development of assigned staff.
Approves time and attendance data for colleagues.
Learn all aspects of daily operations to ensure customer/Client compliance
Travel:
15% travel potential
Possibility to relocate based on progression with company
Qualifications:
4 year college degree in Transportation or Logistics is preferred.
Minimum 1 year transportation or terminal management experience is preferred.
Identifies and resolves problems.
Demonstrates attention to detail.
Identifies opportunities to increase accuracy and optimize resources and solutions.
Excellent negotiation skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization.
Provides timely and professional support to all internal/external customers and vendors.
Effective organization and leadership skills.
Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach and influence employees.
