Billing and Account Receivable Specialist Job Opening in Reisterstown, Maryland - RealTox Laboratory is an expanding national laboratory that provides confirmation drug testing for urine samples with a specialization in the Substance Abuse and Pain Management markets.
We are hiring an experienced Billing and Account Receivable Specialist to support our growing client base. This full-time position will be located at the corporate office located in Reisterstown, MD.
Position Highlights
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you must be a friendly, outgoing and trustworthy person with a solid accounting and finance background. You must have superior multitasking and prioritization skills as well as strong problem-solving abilities. It is also vital that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to listen to and assist patients in an empathetic yet professional manner.
Core Responsibilities
Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, BC/BS, Workers Compensation, Manage Care, and Commercial insurance carriers billing regulations.
Able to interpret and apply correct ICD-10 and CPT coding regulations
The duties include but not limited to collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast paced goal oriented collections department.
Providing customer service regarding collection issues, submit patient refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolve discrepancies and short payments.
Manage delinquency on all RealTox accounts and identify delinquency trends.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts and identifying challenges
Process customer requests for invoices, statements or credits
Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounts Receivable Department.
Able to communicate & follow up effectively with insurance companies regarding patient accounts on a timely basis.
Required Skills
3-5 years of recent Accounts Receivable and collections knowledge and experience
Experience with proprietary software and standard industry software packages
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and goal oriented
Commitment to excellent customer service
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Ability to work independently and thrive in a team environment
Minimum Requirement
Education: AA degree in accounting or related field is desired
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years experience in an accounting/billing position with at least two (2) years in AR or Collections
Minimum 2 years of healthcare accounts receivable reporting and analysis for hospital, long-term care, large physician practice, experience in billing, collections or related experience required.
Pay Rate - $13-$17
