Sr. Reinsurance Accountant Job Opening in New York, New york - Description
The ideal candidate would demonstrate a working knowledge of Ceded Reinsurance. The main responsibilities associated with this position include but are not limited to:
Book and track ceded deposit premium including the preparation of necessary journal entries.
Calculate and book ceded premium adjustments.
Produce both XOL and Pro-rata statements.
Assist in the preparation of ceded schedule F and the quarterly ceded footnote to Parent Company.
Analyze ceded reinsurance programs and record necessary entries.
Maintain certified reinsurers information
Calculate and monitor Letter of Credit information
Requirements
The ideal candidate would be flexible, work well in a team environment, have excellent communication and organization skills, a willingness to learn, and take on new challenges. Technical abilities include:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent training.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of reinsurance accounting experience in the property casualty insurance industry.
P & C ceded reinsurance experience
Knowledge of Schedule F and Schedule P
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills.
Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
Knowledge of MS Applications Access, Excel, and Word.
