Controller/Accounting Manager Job Opening in Cortlandt Manor, New york - Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Hands on Manager role. Departmental responsibilities include month end closing and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, cash management and forecasting, fixed assets, corporate tax accounting, payroll, union reports, maintaining standard costing system, financial analysis, sales and use tax reporting.
Management of aggressive 3 day month end closing process.
Preparation and submission of monthly financial reporting package.
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing and corporate payroll tax compliance.
Work with outside CPA?s, tax professionals and auditors on all required schedules, documentation and filings.
Establish and maintain controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
Respond to corporate personnel with accurate and timely work to facilitate their financial needs.
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
At least 10 years of related experience.
CPA, MBA or CMA preferred.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Strong organizational and management skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
Excellent accounting software user (Coins experience a plus), and administration skills.
Demonstrate skills critical for managerial success, including leadership, decisiveness, flexibility, sound business judgment and developed personal, analytical and communication skills.
Ability to attain and promote good customer relationships.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to effectively present information to top management, and/or board of directors.
Proficiency with Excel, MS Office applications and database systems. Strong system skills a must.
