As the Solutions Architect & Application Development Team Leader you?ll report directly to the Director of IT, working together to lead strategic planning, technology evaluation and tactical solutions for expanding and improving the Fund?s business operations. The role will require a high level of technical expertise combined with excellent planning, coordination and communication skills, and the ability to identify and attract great talent and work effectively in a team setting. Must have experience with relevant development tools and specific application and system architecture, in addition to a strong understanding of object-oriented design.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading development team(s) in the design, development, coding, testing and debugging of applications, assuming management responsibility for all aspects of application development deliverables, practices, quality, staff development and productivity.
Gathering data and analyzing business and user needs in consultation with both business managers and end users.
Designing major aspects of the architecture of an application, including components such as user interface, middleware and infrastructure.
Coordinating the effective use of the development team?s time and ensuring efficient communication between team members and other IT functional areas.
Providing feedback and suggestions for process and product improvement.
Acting as a technical mentor and adviser for the development team.
Implement and enforce a specific development methodology.
Take overall responsibility for design and code reviews.
Ensure uniform application design standards are maintained.
Planning, coordinating and monitoring progress of development projects to ensure their ongoing alignment with best practices, security requirements and business goals.
Hiring or contracting, training, developing, motivating and evaluating development staff.
Serving as a liaison to senior IT management, reporting on the status of current projects, identifying issues and assessing their impact, and proactively recommending solutions.
May at times be required to prototype, code, test and debug.
Ensure software, systems and integrations are well documented.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 7-10 years? of progressive work experience with 2 or more years in a supervisory role with extensive knowledge and experience with HTML/DHTML, XML, JSP, CSS, PHP, AJAX, C#/C++, , SQL Server, NoSQL and LAMP. PowerShell, Python and with other scripting languages a plus.
Expertise in the design, development and deployment of enterprise-level N-tier architecture in a Microsoft Framework. Experience with Java Enterprise Edition platform and ColdFusion a plus.
A bachelor?s degree in computer science or information systems. Master?s degree highly desirable.
Uniquely experienced and skilled at elegantly building software and applications that handle complex, multi-tiered business rules and requirements.
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure a plus.
DevOps experience a plus.
Excellent organizational skills, able to prioritize and troubleshoot.
Self-starter, team player and results oriented.
Experience and willingness to take on roles as mentor, coach and manager.
Must be drug and nicotine-free.
