Staff Accountant Job Opening in Quapaw, Oklahoma - Job Summary :
The Staff Accountant assists with detailed activities associated with maintaining general ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Downstream Casino Resort?s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Assists in the preparation of financial reporting as required.
Prepares and keys journal entries as needed.
Assists in special projects as required.
Records and balances construction transactions and accounts
Experience in Infinium and Cognos preferred.
Review monthly Construction Pay Application for completeness and accuracy.
Process depreciation expenses in accordance with company?s capital policy.
Review supporting project documentation to ensure assets are being capitalized or expensed in accordance with GAAP and the company?s capital policy;
Prepare monthly and quarterly fixed asset reporting, including general ledger reconciliations, roll forward schedules, and depreciation models; Analyze Capital and Construction in Progress accounts for proper accounting
Verifies the accuracy of information transmitted to the financial reporting system.
Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.
Provide accounting support to other departments as needed.
Performs analysis of Downstream Casino Resort both monthly and annually.
Assist departments and management in the budgeting process.
Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
Attend all necessary training and meetings.
Assist with physical inventories as required.

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment.
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area preferred.
Candidate for CPA/MBA will be given preference.
A minimum of 0 ? 2 years direct accounting experience required, with preference given to candidates with previous construction accounting and/or fixed asset tracking experience.
Knowledge of Infinium, Cognos, MMS, Excel, and other accounting software packages is an asset.
Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Must be able to sit for extended periods working at a computer terminal.
Must have the physical ability to work with extreme weather as well as the ability to lift 20 lbs, to squat, stand or bend repeatedly
