Scrum Master Job Opening in Carmel, Indiana - As a Scrum Master for a leading software company you will be responsible for leading and assisting cross-functional software development teams, taking ownership of project delivery, and bringing novel features to market. This role will facilitate the Project Team through the Agile development process of release and sprint planning, daily standup meetings and retrospectives. The Scrum Master is also responsible for removing any impediments to help the delivery teams meet their sprint commitments.
DUTIES:
Helps drive best practice use of Agile methodology as a core to the development life cycle.
Organizes and facilitates sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, sprint and release planning, and other agile development related activities.
Tracks team velocity, health and sprint/release progress.
Maintains Agile process documentation and Agile tools.
Ensures Development Teams are practicing core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
Assists Product Teams with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
Participates proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices.
Creates/Maintains relevant metrics to show management how Development Teams are progressing.
Works to remove any impediments that are preventing forward movement on projects.

Possession of a BS or BA degree in CS or Engineering.
Certified scrum master/scrum practitioner.
Familiar with Jira and its application in Agile project management
At least 1+ year of experience working as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment.
3+ years of experience in Agile development.
Consumer web facing experience strongly preferred.
Proven record of achieving results through others.
Prior experience in cloud based software development is a big plus.
Understand of SoA and web based application development.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Hands-on experience as a power user of Jira and Confluence (or similar).
Knowledge of continuous integration and build process.
Experience in developing web applications and database knowledge.
Experience in testing automation, test plan and test case design.
Skills in coordinating activities, active listening, and monitoring performance of the teams.
Skills in complex problem solving, judgment, critical thinking and decision making.
Ability to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc) with technical and non-technical staff.
Ability to be versatile and handle multiple projects and re-prioritizations.
Ability to organize information and have attention to detail and accurately follow procedures.
Ability to maintain self-motivation and to work independently and in team environments.
