Pre-Op Anesthesia RN Position Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - We are looking for a BSN Registered Nurse to work full time in one of our busy endoscopy centers in Atlanta. The center is located near Northside hospital. This position is Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:00 PM.

Reports To : Lead CRNA and Anesthesia Medical Director

Summary
Under the general direction of the CRNA?s, Nursing Director (of the ASC) and Anesthesia Medical Director, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care through assessment, treatment and evaluation of the patient. The registered nurse is responsible for delivering safe, knowledgeable, compassionate and individualized nursing care to patients and families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs patient preparation, including, but not limited to: a review of medical history, acquisition and explanation of the anesthesia consents, measuring vital signs, starting IV, obtaining appropriate testing (pregnancy and blood sugar), administering medications, and setting up appropriate monitors. Assists in relieving patient's apprehension about anesthesia and sedation for their procedures.
Records and documents all vital signs and assembles and maintains all related patient records.
Maintains patient safety and ensures a clean and orderly environment throughout the pre-op area.
Addresses individual patient needs, and completes all pre-op physician orders
Reports to CRNA?s any abnormal findings during the pre-op assessment and medical history.
Adheres to CDC Bodily Fluid precautions and infectious waste disposal according to policy.
Conducts pre-procedure orientation and instruction of patients and/or patient?s family. Communication a positive and caring attitude.
Assisting with Pre-Op phone calls to patients to obtain Medical History, medicaiton list and any other pertinent medical inforamtion to provide optimum pateint care.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned
Qualifications
Three years clinical experience in surgery or procedure healthcare including demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique, endoscopy procedures, pre-op assessments, working with anesthetized patients, and other clinical situations found in a surgical or procedural setting.
Must possess a working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment impacting ASC?s, and the applicable standards of the AAAHC, AAAASF, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies for ambulatory surgery centers.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with physicians, CRNA?s and all medical professionals.
Hold current RN License from the applicable authority
Current certification in BLS, and depending on center policy, ACLS
Critical Care, ER or Recovery experience at must.

Able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English. Bilingual skills a plus

Able to administer medication including necessary calculations of dose, quantities, and rates, means of administration and assessment of impact on patients
Able to operate a computer
Able to stand or sit for extended periods of time
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
