Accountant Job Opening in Tallahassee, Florida - The position is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, monthly consolidation and close, balance sheet, income statement and cash flow analysis and presentation as well as oversight of daily general ledger transactions for multiple locations. The position reports to the Principal and is expected to assist in other projects as Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Responsible for the monthly general ledger entries and facilitate the monthly close schedule and maintaining a thorough understanding the general ledger and financial reports
Prepare accurate and timely monthly account reconciliations, consolidation, financial statements and analysis.
Prepare accurate and timely internal and external reports.
Maintain accounts receivable, accounts payable and collections process.
Assist in budgeting, preparation of tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
Build and lead process improvements in applicable accounting functions.
Document, analyze, and communicate monthly transactional details.
Assist in maintaining, monitoring and documentation of strong internal controls.
Manages the accounting staff.
Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications Requirements:
Bachelor?s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
3+ years accounting/finance experience
Strong understanding of accounting theory
Honesty, strong ethical standards and integrity are a must
Highly detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external parties.
Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to meet assigned deadlines in a fast paced environment.
