A growing Chicago Trading Firm is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with Java expertise to take ownership over the build out of new, front-office options trading applications. You will be working with traders and a small, full-stack development team building new Java based algorithmic / volatility trading platforms, order management systems, market data feeds, etc.
This is a highly visible and well-funded team in the firm, working on solving business critical needs to benefit their trading desks. You will be tasked with owning this Java based trading platform, which will make them increasingly more profitable.
This Senior Software Engineer should possess the below skills/experience:
Java Development expertise (7+ years professional Java programming)
Performance sensitive Java programming: high throughout systems, JVM tuning, multi-threading
4+ years in finance industry
Strong knowledge of Options
Understanding of Volatility Trading (OTC)
Previous work with business users / Ability to work with traders
Ability and desire to advise on best practices and technologies to use to meet business needs
Trading system development / Options Trading Systems highly preferred
Web Socket experience preferred
JavaScript and/or Python Development experience preferred
Full lifecycle development of Java systems
