Director of Nursing Services Job Opening in Waterbury, Connecticut - Cheshire House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a 75-bed skilled nursing and sub-acute center located in Waterbury, CT is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse that is passionate and dedicated with great leadership skills for the Director of Nursing Position at our state-of-the-art healthcare center. Managed by Ryders Health Management, a leading CT-based provider of short-term post-hospital and long-term care through a network of 6 skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers.
As a Director of Nursing you will have the autonomy, budget, and staff to provide the best in quality nursing care. To be successful in this role you must be organized and have the ability to communicate effectively with residents, their families, medical personnel, and facility staff in a confidential and professional manner.
Responsible for the planning, organizing, direction, supervision, and evaluation of all the nursing services provided in the the nursing department is compliant with federal, state, and local regulations. Implementing and ensuring that Ryders Health Management nursing core policies and procedures are followed. Ensuring the maintenance of records and reports concerning resident care. Facilitating the orientation and training of nursing services personnel. Managing the Nursing Services department within budget.
The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills and decision-making ability along with strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. He/she must be able to develop professional staff, build effective team relationships and establish a positive working environment. They must be able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively and have demonstrated abilities in delivering quality care and regulatory compliance. He/she must have strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills with a commitment to excellence in resident care. This individual should have the energy and enthusiasm in sub acute and long term care. Must be knowledgeable about Federal and State regulations and requirements with a history of excellent survey results.
The Director of Nursing shall be a Registered Nurse with a license in good standing and at least 2 years of long-term care experience. BSN preferred but willing to consider the right ASN candidate.
