Revenue Cycle Manager Job Opening in Newport, Maine - HOMETOWN Health Center , a Federally Qualified Health Center that offers medical, dental, & behavioral health services, has an immediate opening for a Revenue Cycle Manager . With offices located in Newport, Pittsfield, Dover-Foxcroft & Dexter, our experienced and compassionate staff strive to provide each and every patient with individual attention, thoughtfulness, and kindness.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for overseeing the billing and collections of patient accounts, ensuring revenue maximization while maintaining a cost-effective operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages Accounts Receivable.
Oversees all Billing functions, including implementing new goals and procedures, overseeing daily operations and coordinating office efforts to expedite payment of accounts; ensures compliance with all regulations.
Develops and coordinates billing processes between staff members and outside agencies.
Coordinates with clinical on fee schedule and codes.
Sets insurance billing guidelines; oversees the process of insurance billing, including commercial insurance, Medicare and Medicaid; trains Patient Specialists on proper procedures that impact billing.
Manages electronic billing and secondary billing.
Coordinates Bi-monthly billing meetings.
Manages the revenue cycle; closes off month End.
Manages coding compliance; maintains up to date knowledge of ICD and CPT Coding; ensures that staff are current on federal coding changes.
Works in coordination of Credentialing with contracted vendors and CEO.
Writes, generates and evaluates a variety of reports for financial and managerial audits; initiates internal audits based on evaluations to ensure compliance and reimbursements are appropriate; audits providers.
Monitors the structure and initiates changes and improvements.
Coordinates the final disposition of patient accounts and monitors the collection rate of receivables.
Ensures timely submission of first time claims as well as the monitoring and follow-up of claims not paid in a timely manner.
Oversees the refund process for both patient and insurance.
Manages bad debt collections ? assures the accuracy of accounts being transferred to bad debt, accurate posting of payment and adjustments for collection agencies, negotiates collection agencies to settle balances, supports requested documentations from collection agencies.
Monitors staff for compliance of the organizations confidentiality policy in accordance to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
Develops and implements cost-effective collection methods while working within the confines of declining reimbursements from insurance companies, including communicating with providers and administration to ensure they are satisfied with reimbursement results, assisting staff in adapting to a changing medical billing environment, and being a final resource for resolution of unique problems.
Performs the usual duties of a manager, including hiring, scheduling, supervising, delegating, training, developing and evaluating subordinate staff; resolves human resource issues; maximizes employee performance and morale; keeps staff informed on goals, expectations and issues.

Work is performed in a busy medical office environment with many interruptions. Very active, fast paced position with short deadlines. At times, must interact with irate patients and remain calm and professional.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR POSITION :
Experience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skills are considered essential:
Three to five years of management experience in medical office setting, with a background in billing. Experience with ICD9 and CPT coding.
Good organizational and prioritization skills to handle multiple priorities while remaining professional and calm.
Ability to work with many diverse people.
Effective telephone skills.
Ability to work independently and be self-directed and flexible.
Ability to perform functions with minimal supervision.
Education Requirements: The following education requirements are considered essential:
High school education or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in a related field strongly preferred.
CPC certified with continuing coding education.
