Accountant Job Opening in Warwick, Rhode island - Immediate career opportunity for an Accountant to work for a well-established CPA firm based in Warwick, RI. Under direct supervision, responsible for general accounting and bookkeeping activities relating to charter schools. Duties include preparing multiple reconciliations and performing required research in clearing items in a timely manner. The Accountant will be responsible for related month end closing processes, accounts payable, accounts receivable, preparing journal entries. etc. Some knowledge of fund based accounting and grants is helpful. Must be able to work independently, be resourceful to research technical government manuals of rules and regulations associated with this type of business, be detail-oriented, and have excellent time management skills.
Will be utilizing ABILA Fund Accounting software.
Training will be provided for the ideal candidate.
Prerequisites: Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting preferred, with bookkeeping experience. Experience: 2 or more years relevant work experience in accounting, intermediate level. Skills/Knowledge: Requires strong written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Intermediate Excel skill level.
