Activities Director Job Opening in seattle, Washington - Activities Director Objective: Develop, coordinate and implement activities beneficial to the residents and community related events. Overview: Activities Director will supervise, manage and coordinate resident activities for the facility and community related events by performing the following duties personally or through the Activities Assistant/Bus Driver. Essential Elements of Job (Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following): ? Prompt and continued diligence in coming to work. ? Develop and coordinate in-house and community activities, entertainment, and programs. ? Prepare monthly activity calendar and distribute to residents. ? Assist Marketing Director in the development and coordination of marketing and community relations' events. ? Coordinate and oversee all volunteer participation in the community, and make sure they complete criminal background, TB test, and volunteer training as specified in the volunteer handbook. ? Develop new ideas to add to existing programs and activities. ? Coordinate, plan and participate in resident meetings and outings. ? Develop, maintain and track all expenditures within the budget. ? Ability to use facility transportation vehicle for resident's outings. ? Maintains a professional and caring attitude toward residents. Must be kind and very patient. ? Responds appropriately to all emergency situations; i.e. resident emergencies or fire alarm. ? Know all documentation procedures and emergency log. ? Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Must have one-year experience in senior activities or equivalent position. Ability to supervise and/or manage large numbers residents and assistant staff members. Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages one subordinate a total of one employee, Assistant Activities/Bus Driver. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this position. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employee; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; regarding and discipline employee; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of residents or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must react calmly but efficiently to emergencies. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. Must be extremely organized and have the ability to follow-through with a task. Current CPR/FIRST AID certification, valid CDL driver's license. HIV/AIDS awareness education, bloodborne pathogen training, negative TB test.
