Sales Assistant Job Opening in Melville, New york - Newsday is currently searching for an Advertising Sales Assistant to join our Retail Advertising team. In this position, you will oversee the production process for multiple advertisements from creation to placement daily and interact with clients, Account Executives and the creative advertising department to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain and update sales presentations, marketing collatoral and media kits/rates as directed. Prepare weekly, monthly, and daily sales revenue reporting using MS Excel. Assist Account Executives with prospecting, researching and contacting potential clients about advertising opportunities with Newsday. Manage account contracts and activity while acting as a liaison with clients on customer support and billing. Prepare competitive reports and re-caps on advertising programs for assigned Advertising Account Executives. Participate in special projects and administrative tasks as assigned.
Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
A minimum of one year experience in publishing, sales, retail, hospitality or a related field with a strong interest in entering the advertising sales field.
Excellent communication and PC skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
Position requires excellent time management and detail orientation to effectively meet deadlines and book advertising placements on a daily basis.
