The automotive Sales Manager ensures the profitability of the dealership by overseeing the used vehicle sales and inventory management. Duties of the Sales Manager include, but are certainly not limited to, planning, motivating and coordinating the dealership?s management through leadership and solid business practices.
Sales Manager should have at least 5 years of dealership sales management in a supervisory position as well as 3 years used car experience. Experience in other dealership departments is a plus. They must have strong leadership and organizational skills.
Sales Manager must also possess a strong communication skills to deal with customers, employees and vendors. Sales managers are required to stay abreast of the federal, state, and local regulations affecting their operations and comply with them.
Ensure effective inventory mix and pricing to market.
Obtain and exceeding budgets for Volume and PVR
Train on processes & procedures
Drive the business through a high-level of involvement in the day-to-day operations
Analyze the business to determine shortfalls and developing action plans to improve performance
Effectively manage all areas of all department, including but not limited to wholesale, retail, purchasing and marketing.
Ability to forecast goals and objectives for vehicle sales, gross and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.
Ability to hire, train and effectively lead all sales associates.
Possess strong closing abilities and ability to work with lenders.
Understands and keeps abreast of federal, state, and local regulations.
Ability to handle and resolve customer issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
Ensure high standards are held for delivery of vehicles to customers.
Ensure that sales representatives understand and follow dealership policies at all times.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Five years of previous experience as an Automotive Sales Manager.
Experience and knowledge of finance operations, knowledge of bank programs and ability to create excellent lender relationships are important for this position.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
Experience with internet and retail tools, IE: V-auto, E-carlist
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $100,000.00 to $180,000.00 /year
