Director of Educaltional Services Job Opening in Cullman, Alabama - The Director of Educational Services is responsible for the coordination and management of all educational activities in the facility. The primary focus of the Director is to utilize his/her expertise and knowledge in clinical nursing skills to support, mentor, educate and advise the nursing staff on providing the best quality of care for each resident. The director of Educational Services assesses the clinical education needs of the staff and develops and implements continuous educational programs to meet the needs of the staff.
Responsibilities:
Functions as clinical resource for all staff in the facilities as needed
Identify specific clinical educational needs of nursing staff
Assist nurses in identifying change in resident condition and implementing appropriate follow through
Develops in-service programs in response to clinical needs and teaches staff according to facility policies and standards of care as well as Federal and State regulations
Collaborates with Corporate staff and Administration of facilities to meet the needs of the nursing staff
Collaborates with consultants, dietary, pharmacy, medical records, social services, and activities, as necessary to coordinate services
Assist with all surveys
Performs other related job duties as required
Qualifications:
RN with at least 5 years experience in long-term care and Acute care combined. BSN preferred.
Knowledge of long-term care and Medicare regulations
Experience with small group presentations and teaching/training
