BUSINESS SYSTEMS DEVELOPER
POSITION SUSMMARY
Milacron is seeking qualified candidates for a developer position located in Batavia, Ohio. The developer will be responsible for translating business requirements into well-engineered, tested and deployed application systems that are used by the business. This person will also support these systems while in production. The person in this function will interface with internal customers to determine the most efficient and cost-effective approach to meet their business requirements and are responsible for designing, developing, testing, installing, and deploying the required software applications. Solutions include a variety of software technologies and may include new code construction, modifications to existing modules, configuration and/or package implementation. This person will be an independent contributor that participates in technical design, development, implementation and support of application systems for the company.
Duties and Responsibilities :
System/Application and Report Development:
Leads or plays a leadership role in the technical design of new for projects working from functional specifications.
Performs coding and/or configuration and testing to meet the needs of the business partner, while utilizing standard procedures and techniques.
Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including coding, testing and debugging for a large-scale system; maintains records to document program development and revisions.
Leads the development phase of projects, making sure all aspects of the new system/application are developed appropriately.
Selects tools and methodologies that will be used during projects.
Contributes to the development of and/or designs test plans and participates in post-implementation reviews.
System/Business Analysis:
Participates in the feasibility analysis for new
Monitors the operating efficiency of existing application systems and provides proactive maintenance.
Commits to deliverables for scope of work with customers and/or management.
Interfaces with customers to clarify and/or gather requirements.
Writes documentation that describes installation and operating procedures.
Manages all projects and possibly program-related activities and has responsibility for execution and final delivery and release of the product.
Oversees processes to define scope of the project based on the business need in order to meet the customer's project expectations.
Directs project plan approval process from the customer in order to formalize the project management approach.
Develops and manages project schedule status, resources, deliverables, risks and issues and timelines throughout the project with input from the application managers, business partners, and the project team.
Manages changes to the project scope and project schedule in order to keep the project plan accurate to facilitate customer acceptance.
Ensures deadlines are met by facilitating resource planning, organizing, and prioritizing.
Keeps management and key stakeholders well informed on a timely basis on project progress, status and/or concerns for each assignment.
Facilitates all communication within the project team and business partners. System Support:

Minimum Requirements:
4 Year degree
3+ years of experience or formal training with one or more programming languages ( ,C#, , SQL, AJAX, Javascript, HTML5, Oracle)
Full understanding of SDLC process (System Development Life Cycle)
Strong analytical, problem solving, multitasking and time management skills with consistent attention to detail
Ability to effectively learn and use new programming concepts, tools, and methodology to support the needs of the business
Advanced in Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong collaborative partnerships across functional lines and at many levels within Milacron
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to make difficult decisions based on solid business judgment and functional experience
Ability to garner trust among stakeholders.
Requires strong technical background with deep knowledge of software development and operations practices
Requires ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
Work Hours: Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department needs.
Education and Experience :
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
Reasoning Ability: Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Mathematical Skills: Must have above average mathematical skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
Preferred Education and Experience :
: Bachelor's Degree preferred and 2-4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and / Warehouse environment. Employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc. The employee in this role will work in the office environment and production plant.
