Jotun Paints, Inc. in the US, has today 110 employees, and focus within the Marine and Protective segment. We are now looking for an experienced HSE Coordinator to join our HSEQ Department at our Belle Chasse Production Site. The position reports to the HSEQ Manager and will be responsible to coordinate all health, safety, and environmental compliance for Jotun Paints, Inc., while ensuring adherence to all corporate and local regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure that the company?s Health, Safety and environmental management system is adhered to local, state and federal HSE regulations and corporate standards.
Promote a ?safety culture? throughout the company by supporting, monitoring and reviewing measures of the safety management system in order to ensure that a safe and healthy working environment is maintained.
Assist management in the sustainability of the System. Coordinating corrective measures, training employees on HSE?s company policies procedures and regulations pertaining to employee safety and environment protection to minimize loss potential to the company in terms of employee safety, finance/legal actions, and corporate reputation.
Main Tasks:
Support compliance with local, state, federal and Jotun HSE regulations.
Keep an overview of the relevant laws and regulations within the HSE area.
Prepare government reports (TRI. Annual Hazardous waste).
Support compliance on Hazardous Materials Handling and Storage
Upkeep of permits and filing of regulatory reports (air, water, etc.)
Prepare monthly reports
Perform safety inspections / meetings.
Support safety committee.
Support safety walks.
Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis. Facilitate initial investigation and reporting of injuries / incidents to ensure appropriate actions are taken and appropriate personnel are involved.
Support risk work place, environmental, chemical and machinery risk assessment.
Perform HSE training for employees.
Maintain procedures and instructive updated based on government regulations.
Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs such as Process Safety Management, LOTO, Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, BBP, grounding and bonding, Hazardous waste etc.
Conduct internal audits based ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor?s Degree in HSE
7-9 years? relevant experience in a Manufacturing environment
Specific Skills:
MS Office
Knowledge of OSHA Standards & Regulations
PSM
ISO 14001
OHSAS 18001
Internal Auditor Certification preferred
Environmental Management
