Accounting Assistant Job Opening in Harvey, Louisiana - The Accounting Assistant will be a new addition to the accounting team because of their industry growth. Duties Include:
Accounts Payable
Matching and batching a high volume of vendor invoices and coordination of drop ship purchases for invoicing to customers.
Follow up with vendors and our purchasing department to ensure any discrepancies are handled properly and in a timely manner resulting in correct application of billing and credits
Accounts Receivable
Coordination of sales order processing with the sales, customer service and shipping departments to ensure timely, efficient billing of invoices to our customers.
Must understand and support the entire process of: order entry, invoicing, cash application, collections, and be committed to customer service excellence.
Month End Close
Ensure that transactions have been entered to accommodate a timely, efficient close process.
Duties will be assigned that this position will contribute to the effectiveness of the accounting cycle and ensure that we are continually improving our policies and procedures.
Experience requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is preferred but not required
Minimum 1 years of hands-on accounting experience with Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable and monthly reconciliations.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, emphasis on Excel. Experience with ERP software system is highly desired.
