Student Account Specialist Job Opening in Aurora, Colorado - The Student Account Specialist, under the guidance of the Director, Student Accounts, is responsible for working with students to ensure that university tuition and the corresponding payments, including third party payments, are processed correctly and in a timely manner. In addition, schedule refund/stipend checks for credit balances that are the result of dropped courses and T4 funds excess.
DUTIES:
Post tuition for both semester and term students.
Post received payments, including T4 funds.
Setup payment schedules for students who elect in-house financing.
Setup payment schedules for semester students who are partially-funded via financial aid.
Post charges and payments for books and fees when appropriate.
Balance postings of tuition and cash received to enrollment reports and bank statements.
Respond to student inquiries regarding their accounts.
Monitor past due payments and implement collections processes when required.
Prepare, sort, copy, file, receipts, correspondence, and other requested items; work with external entities (i.e. military, companies, etc.) to track student invoices and payments to make sure they are received timely.
Prepare required reports and records.
Perform other administrative duties as needed.
JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate?s degree in accounting or finance or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; one to two years of customer service experience; experience with Title IV funding and DOD billing a plus. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills desired.
