Accounting Manager for Residential Home Builder Job Opening in Greeley, Colorado - This position requires a 4 year degree in accounting, and 4 years of accounting experience
Scope
We are a fast-paced, well-established home builder based in Greeley, Colorado seeking an Accounting professional with the desire to grow their career along with the Company. The Accounting Manager is the main point of contact for Trade Partner and Company Accounting needs. The Accounting Manager is responsible for processing high volume payables in a timely manner, maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting the Team in a friendly, service-minded manner. Our goal is for the Accounting Manager to grow into the Assistant Controller role. The Accounting Manager reports to Controller in the Finance Department.
Responsibilities
Manage high-volume accounts payable
Review payables for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
Maintain strict internal controls
Construction loan draws
Maintain cash management report
Mentor and lead Finance Coordinator and Office Coordinator
Manage fixed asset records
Oversee bank statement and credit card reconciliations
Manage the timely recording of monthly GL journal entries
Monitor overhead expenses and GL activities for variances from budget and inaccurate postings
Research & correct discrepancies in vendor payables
Main point of contact and support for Subcontractors & Vendors
Provide weekly and monthly payables reports
Maintain documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles
Oversee setup of new subcontractors
Create and manage accounting systems and procedures
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
4 years Accounting experience
2 years Accounting experience in home building or manufacturing preferred
2 years previous management experience preferred
Experience with integrated construction/job cost system preferred
Thorough knowledge of general ledger systems and financial reporting
Exceptional team building and leadership skills Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, 10-key by touch, MarkSystems a plus
Must be well organized, detail oriented, reliable with a professional attitude and strong work ethics
Displays strong written and oral communication skills and employs effective listening skills
Exceptional time management skills, with ability to prioritize and manage multiple functions simultaneously
Tactful and mature demeanor with well developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities
Must pass a background check, credit check and drug testing

Salary: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year
