Accounts Payable Clerk Job Opening in Denver, Colorado - Hercules Industries is hiring an entry level Accounts Payable Clerk. The primary function of the Accounts Payable Clerk is assisting the Accounts Payable Manager. This position reconciles vendor statements and vouches invoices to ensure proper allocation and timing of payment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all invoices have been received and processed both timely and accurately.
Process invoices from vendors by monitoring discount opportunities.
Reconciles purchase orders to vendor invoices; contact purchasers with discrepancies.
Checking figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
Reconcile statements and finalizing data.
Scanning, auditing, and routing invoices into workflow system for coding and approval.
Auditing expense reimbursements and petty cash reports for compliance with policy.
Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Graduation from High School or GED equivalent, one (1) year of relevant experience, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
Strong working knowledge of PC environment and MS Office programs including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Must be customer oriented and motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong communication skills are critical as this position is in constant contact with both customers and other employees located at all branches and departments of the company.
Strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time constraints and strict deadlines.
Experience with Harris Data Systems a plus.
Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to write routine reports and routine correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers so that the accounting department can adequately meet its objectives.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to use sound judgment and problem solving skills to analyze employee technical problems and to recommend the proper course of action. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate level knowledge of Word Processing software and Spreadsheet software.
ATTENDANCE DEMANDS: The attendance demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Working schedule will be 40 hours a week and should primarily be between 8 am to 4:30 pm. However, these hours may vary at times based upon staffing needs of the accounting department. Employee may be required to work overtime, and occasional Saturday?s and Sunday?s.
