Staff Accountant AR Job Opening in Longmont, Colorado - SUMMARY
This position performs accounting and financial reporting functions related to Accounts Receivable, customer collections, credit card processing, cash reporting and general ledger account reconciliations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Executes daily cash posting of customer payments.
Mails/Emails customer invoices daily.
Reports AR aging weekly.
Maintains aging spreadsheets for analysis and reporting.
Assists with audit requests of AR.
Performs collection tasks of customer invoices as needed.
Works with Customer Service and Shipping to ensure accurate invoicing and timely receipt of customer payments.
Assists in forecasting cash needs.
Assists in monthly close process including preparation of journal entries.
Reconciles balance sheet accounts.
Assists in preparing monthly financial information.
Complies with all SOX controls.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports all departments with questions regarding customer payments and invoicing.
Backs up Accounts Payable activities.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
There are no supervisory duties.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS
3 + related work experience in manufacturing accounting and/or finance.
Technical skills in account reconciliation and ability to create journal entries.
Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance a plus.
Working knowledge of GAAP a plus.
Ability to respond in a professional manner with all customers.
Attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
