Controller Job Opening in Baltimore, Maryland - Local, family-owned company is looking for a world-class Controller who will be responsible for all accounting and financial reporting activities and developing an organizational design that continuously supports the growth plans of the Company. The Controller will have functional responsibility over accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and tax. The Controller will ensure that the company has the systems and procedures in place to conduct flawless financial reporting and audits, drive change management with process improvement, and scale accounting infrastructure to support one of the fastest growing companies in the country.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare timely, accurate, and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting including narrative of results and key performance indicators
Drive completion of month-end close process and ensure GL accounts are reconciled each month along with supporting schedules and reported results are in accordance with US GAAP
Maintain the chart of accounts, an orderly filing system, and a system of controls over accounting transactions
Coordinate the annual audit and compliance with local, state, and federal tax filings
Manage cash including monitoring daily balances, receipts and disbursements, and rolling cash flow forecasts
Build and manage high performance team by actively building a culture that is customer focused, team-oriented, and focused on automation to increase scalability
Lead ERP conversion across all functional disciplines
Partner with senior management to build financial discipline throughout the organization and enable strong performance against strategic, financial, and operational goals
Requirements:
Certified Public Accountant
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
Four or more years of audit experience with the Big 4 or a large middle market accounting firm
Three or more years of experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager in a corporate setting
Prior experience with startup environments and institutional fundraising
Specific experience in Quickbooks (Enterprise Edition) and proficiency in major ERP systems including extensive experience with conversion to a new ERP system
High level of accounting skills including GAAP and consolidating statements and accrual accounting
Strong analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel and exposure to FP&A
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
