Interview for Wastewater Specialist positions will be held on August 8th in Council Bluffs, IA.
Position Description
As a Wastewater Specialist, you will be responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to maintaining all plant wastewater operations including troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing well pumps, rotary screens, gravity separation tank, air compressors, making adjustments to polymer feed rates and Ph or water to meet city specifications, performing all required planned maintenance and performing safety checks on assigned equipment in a timely manner adhering to plant safety and GMP standards. Additional responsibilities will include:
Maintaining plant wastewater operations.
Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing well pumps, rotary screens, gravity separation tank (e.g., electrical, motors, controls, floats, etc.).
Monitoring and adjusting polymer feed rates.
Making adjustments to water Ph to ensure it is within city specifications.
Maintaining plant air compressors.
Performing required PM on all required equipment (e.g., filters, coolants, gauges, valves, lubrication, etc.).
Performing required safety checks for equipment (e.g, SCBA tanks, safety harness, ammonia cartridges, etc.).
Assisting with start-up and shut down of engine room as required.
Position Details:
Location: Council Bluffs, IA
Salary: $20/hr, plus OT and shift premiums, etc. First year W2 will be ~$60K.
Shift: Must be able and flexible to work any shift with some weekend work as needed/required.

Requirements:
Must possess outstanding mechanical aptitude/experience and experience working in the wastewater field or something related.
Associate?s degree in Environmental Technologies is preferred, it is not required.
Must have a history of success to include your work performance, schooling, promotion paths, and ability to excel against your peers and candidates for these roles.
Must be willing to share skills to help others develop, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to providing a high level of detail and pride towards problem solving.
If you do not have previous HAZMAT experience, there is an established training program that will bring you to the desired proficiency level.
Must have a sound mechanical background in order to understand the theory of operation for all equipment.
