Treasury/Finance Clerk Job Opening in Capitol Heights, Maryland - Performing working level duties, maintains and sets up records of individual accounts; records payments received. Establishes filing systems and various receipt and expenditure ledgers. Performs billing, checking, correcting, posting, and updating of accounts. Enters correspondence and bookkeeping records into the computer system.
Plans and implements short and medium range goals, objectives, and strategies for the department, projects, and programs to ensure efficient organization and completion of work.
Carries out responsibility in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable laws, including:
Coordinate preparation of the Town's annual budget for submittal to the Mayor and Council
Responsible for the security of Town Funds
Prepare Payroll for Submission
Support Accounting Functions Provided by Town Accountants
Coordinate preparation of the Town's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors in Accounting from an accredited four year college or university or graduation from high school plus three (4) to four (6) years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
