Morris 4x4 Center has an immediate opening for a Controller located in *Pompano Beach, FL.* We are seeking a driven individual with strong financial and business experience who will contribute to our success. This position will oversee the accounting and purchasing functions: budgeting, cost accounting, general accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable. Develops strategies for cost control, increasing revenue through disciplined inventory and purchasing operating procedures, and overseeing vendor contracts and negotiations. This position works closely with the VP of Sales and Merchandising to ensure effective contract negotiations and terms for purchasing of merchandise drive the profitable growth of sales.
The Controller reports to the CEO with accounting, purchasing, and inventory functions reporting to the position. Works closely with the Controller of our parent company to ensure accounting practices and financial analysis are meeting or exceeding guidelines set forth by the parent company. The Controller performs functions to manage, organize, and analyze the organization?s financial data and the financial control systems and making policy decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain on-going evaluation of financial systems and procedures in compliance with generally accepted standards for financial control and corporate policies.
Manage and direct the purchasing, inventory an accounting functions and staff.
Oversee the activities of the Accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and budgets.
Respond to Corporate Controller as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
Develop and maintain systems of internal controls necessary to protect and safeguard company?s assets.
Directs information systems team to ensure automated systems are developed, implemented, maintained and operated in a manner which ensures timely and accurate information.
Ensure favorable audit results.
Teams with other management to establish business environment, mission, strategies, and actions.
Ensures implementation and achievement of company?s goals.
Develop and implement effective vendor contract strategies and parameters in conjunction with the VP of Sales and Merchandise that drive incremental volume in revenue and profitability through higher margins and vendor subsidies.
Review and negotiate new and amended contracts.
Provides training, direction, and job task prioritization for Staff.
Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts with the Staff Accountant, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variances.
Is responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
Will establish appropriate accounting, auditing and financial reporting for the new ERP.
Prepare and present financial reporting and variance explanation analysis to division Executives.
Works on special as requested.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge and Abilities Required):
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Three or more years related experience in contract review and negotiations
Automotive industry a+
Inventory and Purchasing a+
Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA or MBA) or equivalent experience.
Strong Leadership skills
Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple demands/issues.
Excellent communication skills.
Flexibility, priorities can change very quickly in this position.
Must be able to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing situations.
Very effective presentation and communication skills with comfort in presentation of financial performance to senior division executives.

Extended periods of time sitting and working at a PC
Office and warehouse environment
Must be willing and able to work extended hours in some circumstances
