Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting the Aegis BMD SM-3 Block IA/IB/IIA missile software development effort, providing technical assessment of software issues and reporting impacts on current planning efforts.
Provide expertise in areas such as software design and verification, as well as systems engineering, modeling and simulation, requirements, verification and validation, and test and integration.
Review documentation such as SDP, SRS, IRS, SOWs, CIDs, PIDs, and other software and systems documents.
Provide assessment of risks to the program office, along with analysis of any proposed mitigation steps.
Review staffing plans, IMP/IMS, and other program documentation to determine if contractor is on path to successful program execution.
Attend program reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, IPR, and other reviews, usually at the contractor (or sub-contractor) site.
Provide feedback to customer on effectiveness of contractor?s efforts and designs.
Provide assessment of project tailoring for meeting required CMMI maturity levels.
Review software documentation for technical accuracy and traceability.
Work with the SM-3 software community, including members from various Government and Contractor organizations, to resolve issues.
Review contractor-provided software metrics in order to measure progress and performance.
Support the engineering safety processes, specifically the Weapons System Evaluation Safety Review Board (WSESRB) and provide input to the Software System Safety Technical Review Panel (SSSTRP) and related activities
Review prime contractor and government integration plans and schedules. Identify potential conflicts, alternatives, and impacts to cost, technical, and schedule performance.
Support the verification and validation of embedded missile software by reviewing test plans and test procedures.
Participate in test readiness reviews (TRR) and test data reviews (TDR).
Review program and component documentation related to software (change proposals, trouble reports, software change requests (SCR), deviations, and waivers) and attend Software Configuration Control Boards (SCCB).
