Web Developer Job Opening in Mountain View, California - Web Developer is seeking a software developer (backend) to work for our client, cloud-based machine learning platform that is enabling faster, more thorough analysis, visualization, and management of high dimensional single cell data in biological research. leading scientists from the top pharmaceutical companies and academic medical research institutions around the world use the platform to answer complicated, cutting-edge scientific questions. the application processes datasets with millions of cells that have 50 or more features per cell and displays biologically useful correlations. the platform can reduce the analysis time from months to days accelerating learnings made from clinical trials and helping speeds therapies to market to ultimately help patients. what you will be doing ? design and build new backend services on aws to support our platform ? design and build new front-end features ? api design and development ? maintain and improve the performance of existing software ? write tests for existing and created code to ensure compatibility and stability *please send resume to or call 415-434-4940 ext 29654* you can also connect with me via linkedin, using the link below. * https://www.linkedin.com/in/shawn-johnsen-965934a9 * minimum qualifications ? bachelor?s degree in computer science or equivalent experience ? solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structure, algorithm distributed systems, and asynchronous or event-driven architectures ? excellent core java skills and 4+ years of experience with java frameworks, server side components, libraries, tools on highly scalable backend systems ? experience coding and testing applications that use aws services components such as ec2, api gateway, lambda, s3, ebs, rds, sqs ? experience with microservice architectures, asynchronous frameworks, caching and server side concepts ? demonstrated work experience in rdbms (mysql, postgresql) and nosql (mongodb, hbase, spark, etc) stores ? ability to multi-task easily and juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment ? familiarity with source control, git and working with complex branching ? ability to rapidly design, prototype, and iterate to solve problems and fix bugs desired qualifications ? deployed production applications on aws ? familiarity with python or r is a plus ? aws developer certifications is a big plus ? some experience with docker and related systems ? experience working with large file processing ? hpc / high performance compute ? exposure to scientific software or biological research is a bonus ? nice to have: front-end web development experience using a javascript framework, ruby on rails or similar, etc
