Medical Biller Job Opening in Detroit, Michigan - Covenant Community Care, a faith based charitable non-profit Community Health Center serving the people of Metro Detroit, has immediate opportunities for a full-time medical biller. Our Billing team members perform various day-to-day patient account functions for our medical, substance, and behavioral health programs, including patient and third party billing, remittance advice and payment processing, problem resolution, statement processing, old balance review, and account inquiries.
Familiarity with Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare, and commercial insurance programs is essential. Experience in the use and review of electronic health records is a requirement. Strong computer, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally, by phone and in written formats are necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least one year of medical billing experience is preferred
Experience with EPIC (EHR) is preferred, not mandatory
Related coursework in accounting, billing, and coding, and/or medical terminology is highly desired.
Knowledge of HIPAA privacy requirements and some exposure to ICD-10, CPT4, CDT, and HCPCS codes is a plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
Excellent problem-solving skills
Spanish fluency is a plus but not necessary
