Contract Accounting Specialist - OP, KS Job Opening in Overland Park, Kansas - Do you have at least 2 years of Accounting experience? Do you also have some experience in the Mortgage field? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as an Accounting Specialist for a Mortgage company in Overland Park, KS! We are looking for someone to perform a variety of specialized clerical accounting work. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with some entry level accounting experience or college curriculum focused in accounting and/or business fields. Your pay will be a competitive wage based on experience for this 2-3 month contract opportunity.
As an Accounting Specialist your main responsibilities will include:
Process and invoice personal billing expenses of Firm employees.
Ensure invoices are sent out in a timely manner and accurately reflect incurred expenses.
Track, process and post payments accordingly.
Support the Trust, Staff and International Accountants in their duties including, but not limited to, bank reconciliations, special reporting, payment schedules and proof-reading data entries.
Participate in other department of firm projects as needed.
You are the ideal candidate if you have:
2 years Accounting experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
Basic understanding of Mortgage industry ? some Mortgage experience preferred
Proficiency in Office Suite, especially Excel
Familiarity with accounting or financial reporting software
Understanding of and ability to interpret and apply general and specific administrative and departmental policies and procedures
Ability to exercise tact and judgment in responding to inquiries and resolving complaints and problems
Ability to plan and organize work to meet changing priorities and deadlines
Clear and concise communication, both orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
