Senior Manager of Finance Job Opening in Mesa, Arizona - Community Bridges Inc. is the largest non-profit integrated health care provider in Arizona. We are currently seeing a Senior Manager of Finance.
The Senior Manager of Finance will serve in a prominent role for our financial and business operations, overseeing the daily accounting operations. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will be the go-to person in the finance organization for GAAP and SOX compliance issues, including assisting with audits, financial reporting and reconciling issues. This role represents a compelling challenge for an accounting professional that enjoys the opportunity to perform a wide-range and variety of accounting functions and lead business operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Accounting Leadership ? Partnering with accounting staff through timely and cost-effective monthly closes and annual audits. Ensuring compliance with GAAP standards as well as proper internal controls. Developing accounting policies and procedures, including technical memoranda and appropriate internal controls to support the business.
Direct Reports ? Responsible for directing and guiding the following staff positons, to include reviewing workloads, ensuring accuracy and accountability, and encouraging process improvement:
Accountants I, II and III
Accounting Clerk(s)
Administrative Assistant(s)
Regional Accountants
Accounting Specialist(s)
Month/Year-End Financial Close ? Working with the CFO, this position will be responsible for reviewing the accuracy and thoroughness of the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close, including all accruals, reserve analysis, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and consolidation.
Financial Reporting ? Overseeing the preparation of financial reports prepared for senior management.
Budgeting ? Assist with budget preparation and flux analysis and variances from budget/forecast. Monitor costs to insure that budget commitments are met and problem areas are identified so as to permit timely corrective action.
Process Improvement - Develop, drive and improve internal policies & procedures to ensure compliance and the highest integrity of the Company?s financial results. Continuously improving the accounting functions, including team development, resource allocation, budget management, and cross-functional cost savings opportunities. Utilizes rigorous standards for performance evaluation.
Property Reporting/Financial Management ? Directs the maintenance of GL activity, vendor verification, budget review, cost analysis and reporting for all CBI owned properties.
Relationship Management - Maintaining working relationships with key internal customers and external stakeholders, as appropriate.
Providing direction, functional requirements and testing support for financial systems? implementation and optimization.
Education and/or Experience :
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, or related field; from an accredited college or university preferred.
4+ years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
Experience in a non-profit, fund accounting environment preferred.
Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications.
Skills :
Thorough and current knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures, including GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and regulations.
Proven leadership ability to gain the confidence of staff, peers and management.
Excellent skills in communication, motivation, and interpersonal relations. The ability to express thoughts and complex ideas in a straightforward and efficient manner.
Excellent written skills, including the ability to develop concise and well-organized summaries of complex analyses and data appropriate for Senior Management.
Trusted to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking and attention to detail are a must.
The ability to prioritize and complete time-sensitive work is critical, and this may include extended hours, including evenings and weekends as the position responsibilities require.
Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint proficiency.
Professional appearance and manner.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, coworkers, auditors and regulators.
