VISTA Volunteer Coordinator Job Opening in lexington, Kentucky - VISTA Volunteer Coordinator Lexington Rescue Mission is seeking a qualified candidate to coordinate volunteers and assist with special events and fund-raising efforts. This position will start at the end of August and is a one-year commitment. The position involves coordinating individual volunteers and groups of volunteers as well as developing a service learning program for youth and college students. In addition, this person will assist with grant proposals and special events and will help develop a corporate relations program. We are looking for a person of faith who has a heart for serving people in need. Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor's degree, demonstrate strong organizational skills, interpersonal and written communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team. This is a full-time position through AmeriCorps VISTA, a national service program. AmeriCorps VISTA members receive a modest living allowance and health insurance and, at the end of their year of service, they receive an education award to use toward student loans or future schooling.
