Accounting Coordinator Job Opening in Madison, Wisconsin - Essential Responsibilities:
Plan, prioritize, assign, coordinate, and monitor the work activities of the Client Accounting team providing mentoring and coaching
Complete and deliver annual performance evaluations for team members
Establish and maintain schedules (e.g., staff hours, PTO), identify resource needs (including overtime), review needs with the Vice President, Finance, and allocate resources accordingly
Ensure staff knowledge and development through training, coaching, mentoring and counseling
Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members
Maintain working knowledge of business processes across the organization, accounting best practices and regulatory issues pertaining to the industry
Contribute toward enhancing client experience and process and product improvement through observation, trend identification and customer feedback
Manage the accuracy and productivity of client accounting activities including cash receipts, refunds, forfeitures, rollovers and reconciliations
Provide final review and approval of manual bank file entries and other cash receipts
Promote and establish an environment of customer advocacy for clients, partners and brokers to build solutions and identify business process improvements
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Recommend system changes and/or control recommendations to secure the balance of client funds and their associated liabilities
Participate in corporate and departmental continuous improvement projects and lead implementation when appropriate
Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization as well as vendors, partners and industry peers
Required:
Bachelor degree in Accounting or related discipline; may be substituted with Associate degree in Business related discipline with two years directly relevant experience
Five or more years related accounting experience and progressive responsibility in a professional office setting
Two years supervisory experience
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Attention to detail and accuracy with strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, utilizing proper grammar, syntax and excellent business acumen
Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a high paced environment with limited direction
Possession of valid driver?s license and reliable transportation
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $50,000.00 /year
