Software Engineer (automated capital equipment) Job Opening in Wilmington, Massachusetts - Summary:
This is a unique opportunity for to join the Automation Engineering, Inc. team as a Software Engineer. You will be contributing to the design and implementation of vision guided automation systems for capital equipment used in the manufacture of camera module assemblies for the automotive (ADAS systems), mobile, consumer, and a variety of other camera markets. AEi?s modular platform machines execute precision multi-axis active optical alignment based on a portfolio of patented and patent- pending technologies which enable the production, assembly and test of camera modules.
You will be part of our talented team of SW engineers developing vision guided automated assembly equipment and test systems to assess the optical alignment quality of the final assembly.
As a strong independent problem-solver, the ideal candidate will develop, enhance, and sustain software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices.
Responsibilities :
Validation and characterization of the products developed, including embedded solutions for vision and navigation, robotics components, and hardware. Collaboration with management and architects to convert software design into working, scalable, maintainable software Assist with system integration, testing strategy and documentation Strong coding skills and ability to conduct design and peer code review Provide estimates for project planning Collaborate with technical experts and team members, to solve technical problems Ability to work independently and troubleshoot. Assist with QA functions as required.
Requirements:
5+ yrs. experience in industrial engineering software design /development of capital equipment systems
Proficient with C#/C++/C using Visual Studio; source control usage and developing multithreaded applications.
Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology
Experience with electro-mechanical systems or robotics
Solid English verbal and written communication skills
Motived with a passion to excel in learning and contributing to collective goals
BS in Computer Science OR BS Engineering with Software Engineering experience
10% travel, both domestic and international
Valuable Skills:
Electromechanical background
Vision image processing experience
Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services
MS in Computer Science or Engineering
Local candidates preferred
