Our Salt Lake City, Utah facility processes an average of 17,000 tires per day into several types of end-use products.
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the development and adherence to the accounting principles, best practices, and procedures for Liberty Tire Recycling, a tire manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, UT. They will assist in completing accurate and timely financial statements through the day-to-day accounting functions as well as reviewing and analyzing financial results. This position will have oversight of the accounting function for the site and will report directly to the Area Finance Director. This position is also expected to work alongside operational management in order to understand the manufacturing processes and governmental requirements. This position is also expected to complete a spectrum of duties, some of which are listed below, ranging from those transactional in nature to review and analysis duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages and performs accounting transactions within the site to ensure that financial processes and information are accurate, timely, and contain adequate internal controls.
Prepares the financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and reports for various audiences.
Reviews and performs general ledger and journal entry postings.
Verifies inventory and calculation of amount in stock.
Reviews and ensures accurate and timely completion of accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash functions.
Ad hoc financial analyses as required from time to time for various audiences

While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. as well as inside the manufacturing facility to communicate with operational management.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
Accounting degree required.
3 years minimum experience in a leadership role in accounting preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
High proficiency with MS Excel required.
Ability to maintain constant communication with operational management and site clerical employees to ensure accounting properly reflects the sites? activities.
