General Accountant Job Opening in Columbia Station, Ohio - General Accountant
Summary :
Must possess solid analytical and management skills. Must be well versed in cost accounting principles that are generally accepted. The Accountant must be someone who continuously looks for ways to improve internal processes to assist in the growth of the company.
Common Duties
· Accounts payables
· Accounts receivables (payments to vendors only after receipts are audited.)
· Reconcile multiple credit cards
· Reconcile bank accounts
· Must have experience working within ERP system
· Ensure reporting is created on current accounts for billing and job costing
· Year-End tax preparation for Accountants
· Corporate Tax Payments (CAT & Sales Tax)
· Accounting Audits (worker's comp., etc.)
· Maintain current files for customers, receivables, banking, employees and subcontractors (Executive Assistant will help)
· Special projects for consultants/peer group
· Manage the production of the overall annual budget as well as department budgets and forecasts
· Create and maintain rolling budget/P&L
· Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
· Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
· Manage the production of the annual budget, rolling budget for each division and forecasts
· Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
· Provide for a system of management cost reports
· Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Art or Science with a Major in Accounting from an accredited College or University
1-3 years of experience in a general accounting role
Strong oral and writing skills required
A/P and Process Improvement to reduce in house A/P is a plus
ERP system experience is required
Must be excellent communicator with all levels of the organization.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) essential.
