Job Title: Dispatch/Customer Service Representative
Summary
This position involves receiving and scheduling concrete orders over the telephone and in person, and helping to determine how these orders are filled. Daily duties also include driver and operator work schedules, informing drivers of load-out times, giving accurate directions, radio dispatching, truck tracking, and data entry into dispatching computer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receiving and scheduling concrete orders. Accurately and quickly inputs phone orders for delivery. Takes orders in a manner that maximizes truck and plant productivity, while providing good customer service. Communicates daily with customers, plant managers, and sales personnel to ensure orders are on time and correct. Uses tact and is polite when dealing with customers and employees; always strives for customer satisfaction.
Completes daily work schedules for mixer drivers. Executes the shipment of concrete for each day to optimize our truck fleet. Devises and posts work schedule based on orders. Directs plant personnel when to load drivers. Helps to ensure that no driver exceeds DOT regulation hours of service.
Interacts with accounting personnel for billing purpose. Works with accounting to ensure that orders are placed on correct contracts and customers are billed accurately.
Communicates with Production Managers, Sales Reps, and Technical Services Specialists.* Informs Production Manager immediately of any problems with projects. Directs all high performance concrete questions to Sales Reps or Technical Services Specialists. Informs Technical Services Specialist when concrete to be tested is batched. Maintains communication with Sales Reps during jobs to assure excellent service. Qualifications: *

Knowledge of command dispatch/Five Cubits very desirable, Energetic, flexible, forward-thinking, self-directed, possessing professional image and attitude, Able to work long hours when required, including weekends, Good ?road map knowledge? of Charlotte and surrounding communities
Education and Experience:
Technical degree desired
Previous dispatch experience preferred
General knowledge of concrete and associated products, as well as placement methods
